Children and Youth

Our preschool curriculum consists of three one-year courses based on Bible stories from the Old and New Testament with content covering subjects like ‘Trusting God’ and ‘God’s love’. Every session has our five essential elements:

• A clear objective (i.e. the aim of the class, what we want the children to learn)
• A Bible story
• A memory verse
• prayer
• love and care

Our Primary curriculum consists of systematic studies from books of the Old and New Testaments designed to be used by very early readers or by early readers.

Level 2 curriculum runs in parallel with Level 3-Youth, Level 4-Senior Youth and Global Adult materials allowing the whole family or the church family to be engaged in studying the same book of the Bible together.  The essential elements of a Level 2 (primary) class are:

• Home study questions for the children to engage with the Bible for themselves. This allows the children to be taught by the Holy Spirit as they focus on the meaning of the Scripture passage.
• Guided class discussion based on the home study questions where they discover together what God is saying through the passage.
• A short talk which aims to apply the passage of Scripture to the children’s lives.
• Learning a memory verse and prayer are vital elements.
• An atmosphere of love and care makes learning easy and fun.

Our Youth curriculum consists of systematic studies from the Old and New Testaments. The material in Level 3-Youth runs in parallel with Level 2-Primary, Level 4-Senior Youth and Global Adult materials allowing the whole family or the church family to be engaged in studying the same book of the Bible together.

The essential elements for the Level-3 Youth are:

• The young people use the home study questions to help them engage with the Bible themselves.
• A discussion takes place in a lively forum where they are encouraged to share what God has been saying through the passage.
• A short talk which headlines the main application of the passage follows the discussion.
• Prayer and learning verses by memory are important elements.
• An atmosphere of love and care makes learning easy and fun.

Our Senior Youth curriculumuses the same material as adults (our Global Adult series) and consists of systematic studies from the Old and New Testaments. The material in Level 4-Senior Youth runs in parallel with Level 2-Primary, Level 3-Youth and our Global Adult series allowing the whole family or the church family to be engaged in studying the same book of the Bible together.

The essential elements of a Level 4 Senior Youth class are:

• The senior youth use the home study questions to help them investigate and reflect on the Bible themselves. Questions are divided helpfully into days so as to help them develop good devotional reading habits.
• A discussion takes places in a lively forum where they are encouraged to share what God has been saying through the passage, respecting each other’s different opinions and experiences.
• A short talk which challenges the group focusing on the main application of the passage follows the discussion.
• A two-page commentary to read at home helpfully deepens the study and draws out the application.
• An atmosphere of acceptance, caring and love lead the participants to Christ’s love for them as they do life together and see how we all fit into God’s advancing kingdom.
